Later her mother Betty is seen with the other people at the airport with strange expressions after this incident. The series got positive reviews from the audiences as well as critics. Its first episode managed a rank of 35 on TV Guide’s 100 Greatest Episodes of All Time. The revelations of Ellen’s sexuality on national television made it contradictory as it was criticized and parental guidance was meant mandatory for the viewers.
